Global Express Tours » English » Costa Rica » Nature » Tamarindo Beach (at First Hand)Grande Beach and Tamarindo Beach share the same bay and are separated by the “Las Baulas” river in the National Park of the same name. It constitutes one of the best kept secrets of the film, economic and legal elite of the world. It is known that its sands have been visited by stars of such caliber as Mel Gibson and Leonardo Di Caprio, members of international royalty such as the Prince of Jordan (who visited Costa Rica a few weeks ago) among many others.
Perhaps it is due to the difficult land access and the distance and road conditions (a little more than 5 hours by car and 8 by public transportation from San Jose) or due to the fact that it is part of the National Park (The “Baula” is an enormous tortoise that deposits her eggs only at Grande Beach and some other beaches in this area of the Pacific Ocean, but not in Tamarindo), these beaches have managed to stay protected despite its constant battle with its well-deserved fame and the price of its lands in the worldwide real estate market.
The best way to reach it is through direct flight from San Jose-Tamarindo, approximately 45 minutes in duration. I had the good fortune of knowing these paradisiacal beaches, thanks to a temporary work contract at one of the hotels that operate in this zone: Hotel “Cala Luna” (located next to Barcelo Langosta Beach, at the southern point of the bay where Tamarindo Beach ends and Langosta Beach begins). but I reached its beaches almost 9 hours after an infernal trip from the “Alfaro” bus terminal at San Jose.
By Liberia you stop at practically all the remaining populated areas, some with a score of houses; in roads lacking asphalt, in terrible states and temperature above 30º C. Blogalaxia Tags: Costa Rica, Beach, Trips Tours, Travel guide, Travel destination content, Travel deals. Related posts
