Coffee

Organic champion

For four consecutive years, our country has participated in a fair that has been celebrated since 22 years ago organized by the Specialty Coffee Association of America. The Peruvian delegation was composed by 25 businesses and 21 cooperatives. According to the agency of environmental press Info Region, the variety of coffee that got the victory was the arabic coffee, “with organic certification Rainforest Alliance and right commerce, it grows at more than 700 thousand meters of altitude, in the valleys of Sandia in Puno, of the cooperative of Cecovasa”. This has some 4,800 associates and eight coffee cooperatives. Previously, Wilson Sucaticona and his coffee have already been recognized in our country in different contests organized by the National Meeting of Coffee, the Peruvian Camera of Coffee and the Department of Agriculture. Peru is the first producer and exporter of organic coffee in the world and the first U.S. supplier of special coffee under the seal of Fair Trade (right commerce). Our coffee covers 25% of that niche of the market of the north country.
