New Zealand is a country of Oceania and is comprised of two large islands, the North Island and the South Island. The North Island is the one with the greater concentration of people, and is the nucleus of commercial and business activity while the South Island is richer in majestic countrysides and natural parks.

Among the main cities on the North Island are:

Auckland: is the largest city in the country and the most eye-catching. The city is located above an area of volcanoes comprised of 50 volcanic vents in the shapes of cones, lakes, and depressions. Among the cities main attractions are the Sky Tower & Casino, a tower with a 360 degree panoramic view and which has a beautiful casino and restaurant on the inside for visitors to enjoy. Then there’s Kelly Tarltons Underwater World & Antarctic Encounter, a salt water aquarium with a glass tunnel running through it so that visitors can see sharks and other kinds of fish as they walk through.

Bay of Plenty: refers to small towns that paint a picture of the unique lifestyle of New Zealand. Here you can see The Village, an area where historical constructions built by the colonists can be observed, as well as old houses, museums, and galleries. Visitors can also enjoy the hot saltwater pools and spa that Hot Pools Mt Maunganui offers.

Wellington: The second major city and the capital of New Zealand, here visitors can enjoy the bars, restaurants, and stores, among other places. It is from this city that boats leave for the South Island port city of Picton. Among the attractions of this city, we find the Police Museum, an amazing museum about the actions of police in fighting crime and their role during natural disasters. The Te Papa Museum is the main museum of New Zealand, and is where you can find out everything about this country.

Among the main cities on the South Island are:

Queenstown: is known as the world capital of extreme sports such as mountain climbing and jumping from helicopters, among others. It offers some very impressive scenery, since it is located on the edge of a crystalline lake and is surrounded by mountains. There are souvenir shops that sell wool and wood artifacts, and a delicious assortment of honey.

Chistchurch: has a beautiful beach with a gothic-style cathedral, around which can be found many high quality cafes, restaurants, and hotels. Here you can go on train rides that cover the entire South Island, during which you can enjoy the impressive countryside.

Due to its geographic location, and because New Zealand has various mountains and glaciers, it is possible for any tourist to go on excursions, walks, and mountain climbs, and to experience nature and the magnificent scenery this country has to offer up-close.
