Changing of the Guard: The “changing of the guard” is one of the most interesting and colorful ceremonies in London, and takes place in Buckingham and Whitehall Palace. Dating from 1660, the changing of the guard is exactly what its name implies: when the old guard is put out of service and the new guard begins its turn. Here you will be able to see the guards dressed in their brilliant red uniforms and bearskin hats, a common portrayal of which is seen on postcards of London. Here you can also experience the music, marching and shouting that characterizes the ceremony. The changing of the guard takes place daily at 11:30a.m. It is recommended to arrive early in order to get a good spot.
Kenwood House: Kenwood House is an old manorial house constructed in the XVII century. It was renovated for Lord Mansfield by the great Robert Adam and is situated in a lush and beautiful park with impressive views over London. Within its magnificent interior, you can find the amazing works of Rembrandt, Vermeer, Turner, and more, ample gardens and viewpoints.
The Bank Museum of England The Bank Museum of England was founded in 1694, when it began as the Central Bank of the United Kingdom. It recounts the history of its function through past times, demonstrating its evolution with the passage of time. Here you can see the wonderful examples of material from the Bank’s collections. There are documents, books, recordings, paintings, tickets, silver, money, and photographs.
