Hi, my name is Derek Beech and I would like to introduce myself as one of the newest teams members to Global Express Tours. I love to travel, but when I am not traveling most of the year I live in Lima, Peru, though I am originally from Montreal, Canada.

For many years I have traveled the globe both for business and pleasure. Throughout my travels I have learned that very often reviews given about places such as hotels, restaurants, cities, etc are misleading to me. But, as they say, “one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure”. That is when I realized that if I could find reviews from people whose tastes are similar to mine, then I would be one step ahead at finding what I was looking for. That is when Global Express Tours took on the concept of having “GET Gurus” for each one of their destinations.

This way when a “GET Guru” makes a review you will understand his or her specific type of taste. Also, if he or she had given you a good review in the past you are more likely to trust those reviews in the future.

As a “GET Guru” I will share my experiences and knowledge about Lima from the eyes of an Expat; as someone who knows Lima and understands the way it works. Inside the website you will find a wide variety of reviews from all types of people who have something to say about Lima. My job is to give reviews based on my experiences; not as a backpacker, nor as a student on exchange, or as a Peruvian but rather as a well-traveled young professional who understands all types of cultures and has seen many parts of the world to use as a comparison. Every day I experience events, and each day I learn something new, which I would like to share with you. The reviews I give are not only in regards to restaurants, bars or hotels but everyday living; such as fitness centers, where to go for a haircut, how to obtain a drivers license, going to the movies, etc.

Everything I write about I have experienced first hand, so I am sure that you will be well informed and become familiar with my particular tastes.
