Jet Lag, a common problem

Also known as desynchronosis, Jet Lag is the disequilibrium between one’s internal clock and the time at one’s destination, due to the drastic change in time when traveling long distances.

This imbalance between our biological clock and the time at the destination often results in loss of hours of sleep. This causes us to feel irritated, tired, sleep, and fatigued during the day, while at night it’s quite the contrary.

Unfortunately, there is no remedy to help us aleviate the discomfort of Jet Lag, but there are various ways to reduce the nuisance.

Before traveling, it is recommended during the days prior to the trip to work according to the time of our destination. A second recommendation is to play with the lights of the means of transportation during the voyage, such that you create the illusion of being in the time zone you wish to be in. Refraining from ingesting heavy foods prior to the trip or flight can also help our biological clock to know that there is a difference.

One recurrent problem with Jet Lag is that often during a business trip, distressed states can become even worse. It is for that reason that it is recommended to organize one’s time in order not to suffer due to the stress associated with the business or the stress associated with Jet Lag.
